The story of the journey of a carnation

Did you know that carnations and trucks have something in common?
They are travelers and have both come a long way. If you could ask them, they would probably fill numerous pages with their stories. Here is a story of it.

But first there is one question: how does a flower travel when it has roots?
Quite simply, it only takes root where it is good for it. Originally from the Eurasian region, the carnation in its numerous varieties, colors, sizes and shapes now covers the entire European continent and can also be found sporadically on more remote continents. The journeys of our trucks are in no way inferior: from the OCS headquarters alone - where our roots lie - the routes of our vehicles constantly spread like a network across Europe and especially to Eastern Europe.

Every journey – both that of the carnation, every truck and every other journey – begins with something small. In our case, it is initially a task that we receive from you as a customer, which we process conscientiously at the headquarters and then, in the final step, send our vehicles promptly on their planned route.

In contrast, the journey of every carnation begins with something truly tiny – its seed, barely larger than the tip of a ballpoint pen. The small size of the seed and its frugality in all fauna allowed the carnation to spread so widely. In biology, it is therefore one of the so-called neophytes - i.e. plants and living beings that can establish themselves in non-native places.

Freight transport and therefore also trucks are very important for the spread of these neophytes – and therefore also our carnation.
Imagine that seeds stick undetected to the tarpaulin of the truck that is supposed to reach Petersburg in two days. Once there, the seeds that had traveled with them said goodbye with the wind, settling, for example, in a meadow in Poland and then spreading their roots in the best conditions.
With every truck, every freight train and every container ship, we send “stowaways” on journeys to the places where they can put down roots and thus offer them the highest level of travel comfort to their new life. With over 25 years of company history, we also have a certain continuity, both in the transport of your goods and - unknowingly - in the transport of neophytes. With every order from you, our customers, within these 25 years, we are not the only ones who have allowed our paths and roots to grow to become what we are now. The carnation, as a neophyte, was only able to become the strong European flower it is now - partly through our efforts. And so in the end, carnations and our vehicles have something in common: the common path.

We recently brought seeds from one of the most beautiful carnation species to you - this time knowingly - so that you too have the opportunity to give the carnation a place where it is good for it. Let the paths of the carnation grow and feel free to take a picture of your new pupil. We are looking forward to it.
