Blossoms for buzzing logisticians

How we can save bees with simple means

Dennis shows you how to do it!

Some interesting information about bees

So far, around 560 different species of bees have been identified in Germany, most of which are wild bees. Many people have the idea that bees only belong to one colony, but there are species of bees that live individually. These bees include, for example, mason bees, which, as their name suggests, like to spend time in holes and crevices in walls. Unfortunately, some of the many wild bee species have already become extinct and many are threatened with extinction.

Bees are extremely useful beyond just pollinating plants! For example, bee honey is used as a home remedy if you suffer from cold symptoms. The ingredients have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects and honey is also often used in skin care products.

The beeswax can be used to make candles, but it is also ideal as a furniture polish. Beeswax is even used in the food industry, for example to make fruits last longer.

Some of the best features of flowers

Flowers themselves delight our eyes everywhere. You're happy to go to a store and get cut flowers for your home, but they last much longer in the wild, where they grow and thrive. Whether in white, red, blue, purple or yellow – flowers simply make life more colorful and show us again and again how beautiful nature can be. An additional side effect is that bees, but also other insects and butterflies, find their food there and are therefore able to survive. Plants generally purify the air because they bind CO² and produce oxygen through photosynthesis.

So with the flower seeds that you and we have sown, we not only help the bees - we also make the air better.

Admittedly, we're not saving the whole world, but we're well on our way there!

Good to know

Did you know that bees are born logisticians? They provide outstanding achievements in this area that we as freight forwarders can only admire and learn from. Through their dances they not only communicate the location of food sources; They are also able to warn of threats and thus efficiently ensure that the colony's survivability increases. Very few insects have developed this communication and logistics as much as bees. This shows an intelligence that we would not have expected of these little animals. There is even an official World Bee Day! It was initiated by the United Nations and has been held on May 20th since 2018. celebrated so that the immense importance of bees is shown to a broad public.

The idea of doing something for the environment arose early on, so we have installed a photovoltaic system on the building since 2008 and produce our own electricity. We are aware of our responsibility towards future generations and want to design our environment in such a way that people can still feel comfortable here in 100 years.

By using environmentally friendly technologies and vehicles, we are already trying to keep our company's own CO² footprint as small as possible. Nevertheless, it is undeniable that not every truck runs on renewable energy. In order to compensate for these CO² emissions, we want to plant forests over the next 20 years.
