A major fire at the recycling center in the Rodendamm industrial area on the night of Whit Monday caused a large-scale operation by the fire brigades in the area. Many people have asked us about the fire and how we have been affected by it. Since the source of the fire was only around 150 m away from us as the crow flies, the concern was justified.

For everyone's general reassurance, we can report that we did not experience any negative effects other than a slight odor nuisance. Our office is only partially affected by the road closure. Access is free, although only from the east.

The Arche Noah animal shelter was much more concerned, which is exactly opposite the scene of the accident. Here it had to be ensured that all “residents” were evacuated. According to the animal shelter, neither people nor animals were harmed when evacuation at night. Big praise from our side to the volunteers!

We hope that the same happened to the emergency services who are currently still at the scene of the accident. Around 250 firefighters from the entire area were called to this operation. The source of the fire has still not been extinguished. We can see from our office that enormous amounts of water are being transported to the fire by the emergency services. Good luck from us!

In fact, we were very lucky to have been spared even from the clouds of smoke. The wind was so favorable for us that the smoke almost completely passed our office.

Unfortunately, the neighboring fitness studio Studio wasn't quite as lucky, so it had to remain closed all day yesterday.

We also hope that the damage to the nearby businesses and residents was limited. We also wish the affected company all the best for the future and that the fire does not endanger the future of the business.
