OCS Spedition is the innovative logistics partner for shipments of all kinds of goods to China

The People's Republic of China is the fourth largest country in the world in terms of area. In 2001, China reached an important milestone in its integration into the global economy with its long-negotiated accession to the WTO. Since then, the Chinese economy has gained momentum and its gross domestic product has increased fivefold in just twelve years. The investment conditions have also been comprehensively reformed since then. The country has made the leap from being the world's workbench for cheap mass-produced goods to becoming a producer of some high-quality consumer and technology products.

For German companies, China, with its almost 1.4 billion people, is a very important import and export market . Every year we not only purchase goods worth over 100 billion euros (2017: +7.1% compared to the previous year) from China, but we also export motor vehicles worth more than 86 billion euros (2017: +13.3% compared to the previous year). and parts, machines, data processing equipment, electronic and optical products as well as rubber and plastic products.

The sea route is one of the most reliable and cheapest transport solutions for shipments of goods to and from China, but requires a delivery time of around four weeks. Many companies often don’t have the time. Air freight impresses with its short transport times, but is extremely expensive compared to sea freight. A more cost-effective, environmentally friendly and even less time-consuming logistics solution is the “China train”. Depending on the place of departure, the freight train takes around 14 days to cover the approximately 10,000 km route.

Our employees have a clear understanding of the various transport options to China and the country-specific requirements.
