Mission Forest: Sustainable tree planting campaign strengthens trust – and combines transport & environmental protection

There are moments when you sense that something significant is emerging.

This Saturday was one such moment. When the first volunteers were already on site before the official start time, wearing rubber boots, with coffee in hand and a smile on their face, it was clear: Today we will create something together that will last.

People from the region – families, customers, friends, and supporters – came together to plant over 1,200 young plants . Looking back, what remains is not just a new patch of forest. It's the feeling of having done something real, meaningful, and sustainable together.

Sustainability you can experience firsthand – why this campaign is so special

Unlike traditional CO₂ compensation, we pursue an approach that puts genuine environmental protection at its core. It's not about abstract climate policy, but about a regional contribution that makes a difference – right where our customers live and work.

OCS is setting an example: transport and sustainability are not mutually exclusive.
On the contrary – companies can now take responsibility and simultaneously build trust by participating in projects that are real, transparent, and designed for the long term.

A day that shows how easy participation can be

In the weeks leading up to the event, the B-Native association meticulously prepared the entire area so that everyone could get started right away on Saturday.
The meadow was mowed and cleared so that no one would be standing ankle-deep in grass. The soil was tilled, meaning loosened and leveled, making even larger planting areas easily accessible. Finally, all the planting holes were pre-drilled – one after the other, precisely and in perfect order.

The result?
The volunteers simply had to place their sapling in the hole, push the soil in with their shoe, tamp it down – done.
So simple, so motivating, so efficient.

It is precisely this simplicity that creates trust:
Our customers see that sustainability projects don't have to be complicated – but can be implemented collaboratively and effectively.

Regional reforestation that combines transport and responsibility

As a logistics company, we know that every journey has an impact. With our "Mission Forest" initiative, we want to demonstrate how companies in the transport sector can reliably, regionally, and sustainably assume responsibility. The recent tree-planting campaign impressively showed that sustainability is practically achievable and that transport and environmental protection can indeed go hand in hand. At the same time, the open nature of the campaign offers our customers the opportunity to transparently follow our work and experience firsthand how meaningful and effective such projects are. Every form of participation – whether supportive, active, or collaborative – strengthens not only trust but also long-term partnership.

Even our electricity supply was sustainably organized: Thanks to a Hyundai Ioniq 9, provided by the Müller car dealership in Delmenhorst, we were able to cook and heat our water entirely on-site using clean, locally generated electricity. A great example of how modern mobility and regional reforestation can go hand in hand.

We are looking for land – and invite customers to become part of the mission to create a forest

With a forest cover of only around 5%, our region is far below the national average. Therefore, we are constantly searching for new areas suitable for future reforestation projects. Particularly valuable are fallow or no longer commercially used arable land, small scattered parcels of land, or remaining plots of land that are no longer agriculturally viable. For many of our customers, this is an attractive opportunity to actively participate in a project that has a visible, lasting impact – right here in their local area.

With every new tree, not only does a piece of nature grow, but also trust between us and our customers, who experience what sustainability in the transport sector can look like in concrete terms.

Your invitation: Join us next time!

We warmly invite you to become part of our mission for the forest.
